eCom eCom Signs Contract to Use New Image Compression Software

PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. - April 9, 2002 - Today eCom eCom.com, Inc. (OTC/BB:ECEC) announced that it has signed a new agreement for use of high power compression encoding technology. The agreement allows eCom eCom to use the state-of-the-art encoding technique to develop and brand compression products including digital storage applications.

"Our new partner has provided us with the tools to complete development of our first compression product," said Robert Wilson, President of eCom eCom. "The first application will be MyPhotoZip™, a replacement for the 'photo shrink' software utility that we stopped developing as a result of our suit with a previous vendor. The problems that we experienced with that vendor will not be repeated because our new partner has already delivered everything needed for product integration."

In related news, a hearing pertaining to the suit with the prior vendor had been scheduled for April 4, 2002, but was postponed until later this month. Identification of eCom eCom's new partner has been withheld pending resolution of certain issues arising from the litigation.

"MyPhotoZip™ will be easy to use and very intuitive," said Wilson. "It uses advanced techniques that provide a better quality image than JPEG and other compression products now on the market. It provides fast image access and optimal visual control of compression results." Details of the product launch of MyPhotoZip™ will be released in the near future.

According to David Panaia, eCom eCom CEO, the latest agreement enables the company to resume development of an array of products based on integration of the encoding technology. "We have already begun negotiations to form alliances that will allow us to quickly capitalize on use of this technology," said Panaia. "Our relationships are being formed with quality partners. This is an exciting step forward for our company."
