eCom eCom Prepares for Launch of New Compression Products
PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 23, 2002--Today eCom eCom.com, Inc. (OTCBB:ECEC) confirmed that it has received its software development kit for new high compression encoding technology from one of its strategic alliance partners. The company has begun to integrate this superior technology into a line of unique compression products.
eCom eCom continues to finalize the rollout plan for MyPhotoZip(TM) -- its photo storage software ideal for digital camera users. It is common knowledge that large digital picture files are extremely slow to upload. MyPhotoZip(TM) eliminates this time consuming problem by shrinking photo files to enable fast e-mail transmission.
Already a second company software utility, designed to process big image files quickly and to save disk space, is under development. Almost every computer user has faced storage problems. eCom eCom's new product (yet to be named) will save space, time and money. Like MyPhotoZip(TM), which is designed exclusively for the digital camera user, this image compression product will feature state-of-the-art technology, but it will be useful to anyone who uses a computer.
Providing additional comment on the company's recently announced teaming agreement with Image Soft, Inc., David J. Panaia, eCom eCom CEO, noted that eCom eCom is enthusiastic to be associated with this newly created private company. "The founders and executive management of Image Soft, Inc. are extremely talented and have many years of experience in the technology, software and sales sectors and have pending contracts with several Fortune 500 companies that eCom eCom will be able to capitalize on. They have a sales force in place from a predecessor company that has existing client relationships," said Panaia.
The company also announced that a continuance has been granted on its lawsuit with Impact Imaging, Inc. At the request of Impact Imaging, the case is now scheduled to be heard on May 14, 2002 in Baltimore, Maryland.
"Even though our legal team was prepared to move forward today, we will utilize the extra time to strengthen our case," said Panaia. "We are confident that we will prevail in this suit and then will be able to fulfill our obligations with our previously announced strategic alliances."
In other news, the company recently filed its 10-Q report with the Securities and Exchange Commission. The report demonstrates that the company is continuing its trend to reduce the company's debt. More recently, the company also completed the retirement of 2.6 million shares of outstanding common stock.
